Who we are and what we do
Hi, I’m Louise and I partner with schools, global organisations, and families to build environments where neurodivergent individuals don't just get by—they thrive.
Rooted in a deep psychological understanding of human development, my work is backed by a BSc (Honours) in Psychology alongside over a decade of hands-on experience across the education and care sectors. My expertise spans the entire educational journey—from early literacy interventions in primary years to supporting young adults navigating their next steps into university age and beyond. Having led SEND and safeguarding provision within world-class creative institutions like The BRIT School and Stagecoach Performing Arts, I possess a unique understanding of how to nurture diverse minds at every stage of growth.
For me, this work is also deeply personal. As someone who received an ADHD diagnosis later in life—specifically in my 30s—I intimately understand the challenges of navigating an educational and professional system not always built for diverse minds. This lived experience is what drives my absolute passion for supporting individuals at every stage of their journey, ensuring no one has to wait decades to understand their strengths and receive the right support.
As a qualified teacher (QTS), certified Neurodiversity Coach, holder of the National Award for SEN Coordination (NaSENCO) and postgraduate qualifications in Access Arrangements (PAPAA), I bridge the gap between lived experience, strategic leadership, and real-world application.
At Louise Powell Consulting, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive coaching and training for special educational needs and disability. Our mission is to empower schools, organisations, and families through tailored solutions that promote understanding and support for neurodiversity and disability. With a commitment to inclusivity, we offer initial consultations, structured training and coaching programs and resources, ensuring that everyone receives the guidance they need. Your journey towards reframing your approach to neurodiversity starts here.
Our Services
1
Support for Individuals and Families
Understanding your brain or supporting a child who experiences the world differently doesn't require a piece of paper. Whether you have a formal diagnosis, are stuck on a NHS waiting list, or are simply trying to make sense of neurodivergent traits, this space is for you. These coaching sessions help individuals (aged 16+) and their families process the emotional impact of navigating the SEND system, untangle daily challenges, and build practical strategies that actually work. We focus on validation, reducing household stress, and creating an individualised roadmap that honours exactly who you are—with or without an official label.
2
Support for Schools
With assessment waiting times longer than ever, schools cannot afford to wait for a formal diagnosis to support a student. This category focuses on proactive, whole-school approaches to neurodivergence and SEND. Working with UK schools, colleges, and universities, we provide targeted coaching and staff training, help educators recognise early indicators, implement immediate classroom adjustments, and support students who are struggling without an official diagnosis. By bridging the gap between staff, parents, and young people, we co-create inclusive environments where every student feels understood, accommodated, and empowered to learn.
3
Support for Organisations
Neurodiversity is a natural variation of the human brain, yet traditional workplaces are rarely built with neurodivergent minds in mind. These coaching packages are designed for UK businesses, charities, and public sector bodies looking to foster genuinely neuro-inclusive workplaces. We focus on creating environments where both formally diagnosed and self-identified neurodivergent employees can thrive. From advising on flexible workspace adjustments to coaching leadership teams on neuro-affirming management styles, this support helps your organisation look beyond clinical labels to unlock the diverse thinking, creativity, and potential of your entire workforce.
